Sundays at King's Church

We'd love to welcome you

We gather at our building, every Sunday at 10.30am (as well as livestreaming on our YouTube channel). Here’s what usually happens…

Our building and offices are at 104 Gilmore Place, Edinburgh, EH3 9PL. This is on the junction of Viewforth and Gilmore Place.

Bus routes 10 and 27 stop just outside, and there are several other routes that stop along nearby Fountain Park or Bruntsfield Place. We have a bike rack on our property.

Parking near the building is free on Sundays, please make sure you don’t block any of our neighbours’ parking spaces! If you would benefit from reserving our one available parking space, please contact the church office in advance.

We have adapted our building to make it more accessible – you can read full details of this here. There is lift access to the auditorium (where the church service is held) and the side hall (where kids’ groups for ages 1 to7 take place). There is not wheelchair access to our P3-P7 kids’ group or our youth meeting.

Singing

We start with a time of worshipping Jesus led by a band. We love singing and celebrating who God is, what He has done and is doing. Not being able to do this during lockdown was so hard but we’re excited and freshly grateful to be able to sing together again now.

The Bible teaches us to expect that God will speak through His Holy Spirit to various people in the congregation for the good of everyone there, so we make space for this to happen.

King’s Kids

At around 10.45am, children who are in primary school or younger go to their own activities. Parents and carers must sign their children in at the start of the session and collect them at the end. King’s Kids is arranged into three groups: Mighties (1-3 years old), Supers (4 years old to school year P2), and Heroes (P3 – P7).

Parents and carers with children aged under 1 are welcome to use a room near the auditorium, which has a TV link to the meeting, for little ones who need to make more noise or get fed. Our welcome team can direct you to where this is.

There’s always news to be shared of what’s going on in the life of the church. If you miss any of the notices given, you can always ask at the Connect desk at the end of the service. You can also sign up for our weekly news email or see our news page.

Preaching

Every week, someone will preach to us from the Bible. We believe that the Bible is God’s perfect and timeless truth for everyone, so we want to understand what it says and apply this to our lives.

If you miss a sermon or want to listen to it again, you can download them from here or subscribe to our podcast.

Time to chat

Our meeting finishes at midday but that’s not the end! Hot drinks and biscuits will be served and there’s plenty of time and space to meet new people, ask questions, and get connected.

Student Lunch

Every Sunday after our morning meeting, someone from the church will host a free student lunch. This is a great way for students to build community, as well as connecting with other people in King’s.

Giving

There isn’t usually a time during the service when we invite people to give money but you can use our contactless giving station whenever you want. It’s simple to use, you can choose the amount you want to give, and UK taxpayers can apply Gift Aid to any donations they make to King’s, increasing the value of what they give by 25% at no cost to them.

Many people give by standing order, or through ChurchSuite.
